Focusing on Australia’s biggest V8 Supercar race of the year, V8TV needed PostBox to capture the essence of the epic battles of Mount Panorama over the decades through an opening title sequence and elements.

PostBox used a string of 3D and 2D design elements and techniques to deliver a defining, illustrious titles package for the king of mountains.  Based on a loose brief- a sequence fit for a battle scene- the cascading combination of gripping music, panoramic shots of Mount Pan, scorched flames and traditional racing stripes confidently captured the opening style the program needed.

The PostBox team drew inspiration from popular war first shooter games like ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Medal of Honour’ which were the perfect muse for the titles. Loaded with 3D elements from the design team and effects like camera movement, shakes, smoke, fog and fire, it tied together the spirit of a dramatized war theme.

With an extensive amount of work PostBox had captured the ‘Battle of Bathurst’ better than what the client expected and managed to showcase the PostBox top notch skill set also.

“This was an exciting project to work on!  The dramatic dark tones and grade of the shots, combined with the bold, heavy 3D type, comping natural elements and dramatic music produced an explosive result for the theme of Battle”Kelsey Shanahan, Motion Designer.
