Working closely with the XYZ Network, Sarah Linton Productions and PostBox were given the opportunity to produce a 1 hour documentary revealing the range of Australian country music talent in an ‘Idol’ style competition. The music documentary showcased young performers from around Australia drawn to Tamworth to display their remarkable individual talents. As a starting point for their journey from unknown singers & songwriters to competing for the grand prize of a record deal and the opportunity to perform Live in country music capital Tennessee.
Armed with a limited budget and a creative spirit, the collaboration made the most of a formula usually associated with big production values such as Australian Idol and Rockstar Supernova. The 60 minute documentary connects interviews, narration, and energetic performances all enhanced by subtle graphics to produce an inspiring, character driven presentation.
The end result speaks for itself. XYZ Network was extremely impressed with the feature music documentary and PostBox’s fresh approach to the ongoing event. The 1 hour TV program featured exclusively on Foxtel’s Country Music Channel (CMC) throughout 2008.
PostBox and SLP have additionally been signed on for the Telstra Road to Tamworth 2009 feature.
